What is Canmore known for?

Largest of the Canadian Rockies towns, Canmore is known as a hub for outdoor recreation within easy driving distance of Calgary.

Dominating the mountains surrounding Canmore are the distinctive THREE SISTERS. They can be seen from throughout town, or head to the RUNDLE FOREBAY for a waterfront mountain view of Ha Ling and adjacent peaks.

CANMORE HIKING ranges from an easy walk up GROTTO CANYON to ancient petroglyphs, a moderate hike to crystal-clear GRASSI LAKES, to a strenuous trek to the summit of HA LING PEAK.

CANMORE GOLFING centres on three courses, each with stunning mountain scenery and challenging designs.

Built for the 1988 Winter Olympics, the CANMORE NORDIC CENTRE is open for summer and winter sports, including mountain biking and cross-country skiing.

While not as well known as nearby Banff, the TOWN OF CANMORE has interesting galleries, lodging for all budgets, and eateries ranging from top-notch cafes to fine-dining restaurants.
