Canadian Rockies Shopping

For many tourists, Canadian Rockies shopping centres on Banff Avenue in Banff National Park, but there is also a selection of souvenir shops, galleries, and outdoor retailers in Jasper, Canmore, and the Columbia Valley, and to a lesser degree Lake Louise, Bragg Creek, and the Waterton townsite.

Canadian Rockies Camping and Outdoor Gear

Camping, outdoor gear, and more specialized equipment can be purchased throughout the Canadian Rockies. In Banff and Canmore there are chains such as Atmosphere (Banff), North Face (Banff and Jasper), and Sports Experts (Canmore). But we prefer shopping at family-operated local businesses. Prices are generally the same as the chains and the staff are usually local and knowledgeable. They also stock equipment and clothing for a wide range of outdoor activities, as well as Canadian Rockies maps and guidebooks. Here are our favourite outdoor retailers in the region:
