Waterton Lakes Golfing
The rolling fairways and spectacular mountain backdrop of Waterton Lakes Golf Course (403/859-2114) can distract even the most serious golfer’s attention. The 18-hole course, designed by Stanley Thompson and dating to 1929, is not particularly long (6,103 yards) or difficult, but the surrounding mountains and unhurried pace of play make for a pleasant environment. The course is four kilometers (2.5 miles) north of the town site on the main access road and is open June to early October. A round of golf costs $49. Club rentals are $9 to $25, and a power cart is an additional $34 per round. At the end of your round, plan on relaxing at the clubhouse over a light meal and cold drink.
