Canadian Rockies Hiking Blogs
We are partial to the Canadian Rockies Hiking Blog, which is authored by our own Brian Patton, but ask any other local and I’m sure they’ll tell you the same thing—no one knows more about Canadian Rockies hiking or is as enthusiastic about it than Patton.
The Kananaskis Blog is dedicated to hiking in Kananaskis Country, and as authors of the popular Kananaskis Trail Guide series, Tony and Gillean Daffern are well qualified to keep you up to date with the local trail system.
Canmore-based Kathy and Craig Copeland are the authors of the Don’t Waste Your Time series of hiking books and you can be assured that their Hiking Camping Blog is just as opinionated (although the topics of discussion are often related to hiking in other parts of the world).
The Waterton Blog started out over a decade ago dedicated to scrambling in Waterton Lakes National Park, but has regular posts on a variety of outdoor Waterton topics, including hiking trail conditions.

Drink Play Love is the work of well-known Calgary writer Lisa Kadane, whose blog focuses on her own experiences raising a family (that spends lots of time in Canadian Rockies), with a regular Drink of the Week to put her busy life in perspective.
Calgary mom Tanya Koob blogs at Rockies Family Adventures. Posts are on the long side—and the large photos take a long time to load—but for anyone visiting the region with kids, her posts offer up some great seasonal advice on what to see and do in the Kananaskis area and beyond.
